World Equestrian Center
July 21-25, 2021
Ocala, FL

What a week we had at WEC last week! The ribbon display photo was taken after only 3 days of showing! We ended up champion in .80 jumpers, future hunters, short stirrup equitation, and reserve champion in NSBA hunters. Ruby Gamel and Rio Cacique saw more blue ribbons at this show then one could have imagined! What an amazing first big show for this duo!! Mary Crawford Jenkins and Confidant moved up a level this show to the .80 and made clean sweep of the whole division! Milena Wright and Pocketful of Posies were 3,3,7 in the .65 jumpers at their first big show together! Lila Gamel and Cherry Cola were 4,6,7 in the .65 jumpers. If it weren’t for optimum time, my two pony girls would have killed it as they both ride little speed demons. Yes I always tell them it’s not about going fast, just about being efficient, but try telling their ponies that!! Samantha Baggett and The Lightening Thief also moved up a division to the .80 and are really starting to put things together! Percy says he needs bigger jumps, still, I say more flatwork my friend! Last but not least our four year old McLaren got top ribbons in the future hunters and NSBA hunters2,3,4,5,5,6. We were still missing a few from our group due to sickness and summer travels, but we will back at it full again in no time! Proud doesn’t begin to describe what a great week we had at this last show! Every day I thank my lucky stars for what an amazing group of riders/clients we have at our barn!

FCHJA was bittersweet in a lot of ways. This show marked a lot of firsts, and few lasts, for our M&M family. This was Isabella Mudrick’s first show with her new horse Conrad.  Lila Gamel and our own Simon Says (pictured) showed for their last time together, as she got her own new pony!  Juliana Steffanelli and Simon Says showed together for the first time. Erin Conway showed Familiar to Millions for the very first time. Hope Meyer and Elluminate showed for their first time together.  Last but not least, it was our last show with Savannah Schlueter. She is leaving the nest to make her debut as the assistant trainer at Oakmore. We wish her all the best and know that she will continue on with her winning ways! We are all so excited to see where this new journey will take you!!
  • Isabella and Conrad were champion in the low children’s jumpers, won the classic, and second in equitation over fences
  • Mary Crawford and Confidant were reserve champion and second in the classic
  • Lila and Simon Says were reserve champion in the 2’ jumpers
  • Juliana and Simon Says were Reserve Champion in the walk division
  • Erin and Familiar to Millions were reserve champion in the beginner rider equitation
  • Hope and Elluminate collected top ribbons in the beginner rider hunter and equitation
  • Ruby and Rio Cacique got top ribbons in the beginner rider hunter and equitation
  • Marley Goodman and Mr. Fabio got top ribbons in the crossrail division

Jacksonville Spring Classic
April 14-18, 2021
Jacksonville Equestrian Center

It was a learning week for our few riders/horses that attended this show.  Corleone Z made his rated show debut and earned Reserve Champion in the 3' Hunters!  The rest of our riders had a tough go with a tight jumper course, sloppy & wet  footing and covered arena crazies.  Despite the tough week, there were still ribbons earned, lessons learned, and smiles to be had.  We certainly can't win them all, but we can have fun trying!

MSC Horse Show
April 9-10
Florida Horse Park
Ocala, FL

We took a little time off in March from showing due to the EHV1 outbreak in Ocala.  We wanted to play it safe so we focused on training at home and having a little barn family fun!

MSC was our first show back with just a few horses (due to schedule conflicts) and we got to bring along our newest import, Corleone Z AKA "Vito"!  This was Corleone's first horse show in the US to test the waters and see how he does with everything.  Vito did not disappoint and he set the stage for a day full of Champion ribbons!
  • Corleone Z and Michelle were Champion in the 3’ Hunters at his first show in the US
  • Mary Kate and White Diamonds were Champion in the Children’s Hunter and equitation divisions
  • Amelia and Emerald City were Champion in the pre children’s hunter and equitation divisions

We are looking forward to showing at the Jacksonville Spring Classic next week!

  • Kallie and Rhoda were 2,6 in the medium Children’s jumpers and fourth in the classic (3 kids tied for second place with one time fault). This was their very first time showing at a meter and first horse show with us as they just moved here from out west!

Ocala, FL

What a week it was at WORLD EQUESTRIAN CENTER! This place, WOW is all we can say!  There was certainly a learning curve in getting to know the layout of the huge facility and understanding how everything worked, but we figured it all out with the help of our entire barn family!  All the classes were huge, so even earning a ribbon was an impressive accomplishment!  We can’t wait to come back with another big group in March!

Here's how we did:
  • Pause for Fame and Katie won the HUGE low first child/adult class and had a heart breaking rail in the classic’s first round.
  • Emerald City was was 2,4,4, in the NSBA hunters with Michelle and Reserve Champion in the Long Stirrup hunter with his new mom, Amelia, at their first show.
  • A Lacey Remembrance and Sam were second and fifth in the .65 open and low child/adult jumper division.
  • Ooh La La ribboned in the baby greens with Michelle and pre children’s with Mary Kate but those gorgeous indoor arenas were very spooky for many horses.
  • Stark and Ellie got ribbons all week in a very competitive low adult jumper section and were seventh in the child/adult classic.
  • White Diamonds and Mary Kate got top ribbons in both the 3’ equitation and Children’s Hunters at their very first big show at that height!
  • Belle and Isla debuted in the lead line class in style and earned a beautiful blue ribbon!
  • Finally we helped out a dear friend in need. Stillman and Courtney were seventh in the high adult jumpers in the uber cool derby ring, that looks like a stadium!
